About

The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. Psalm 16:5-6

This blog is dedicated to reminding all believers in the Lord and their congregations of their beautiful inheritance awaiting them in the New Heavens and New Earth. Too many believers are living in the nostalgic past, in worldly luxury, in deceit, and/or in defeat all because they lack perspective of the incomparable and near future awaiting them–the Kingdom of Heaven.  We have forgotten our common identity and common Heritage in the Messiah and have settled for lives in the slums because we can’t imagine what a holiday at the Beach is like” (CS Lewis).  Or we don’t believe that we, too, like the thief on the cross, will be with Jesus forever in Paradise.  Too many have forgotten the “one thing we have asked of the LORD–that we may dwell in His house all the days of our life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple” (Ps 27:4).

“I myself said, “‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’ I thought you would call me ‘Father’ and not turn away from following me.  Jeremiah 3:19

The less we are Kingdom-minded, the more we will build our kingdoms on this earth.  Could it be that in all our attempts to clutch onto other identities such as who we are racially or ethnically, where we were born, what distinguishes us, or where we came from, we ironically forget who we are in Messiah, the rich Heritage we all have in common, and the Kingdom to which we are all going? Could it be that we are being distracted from the great work and commission Jesus called us to and missing out on the excitement of our future inheritance we have to look forward to?

Isn’t it our common heritage of faith that compels our churches’ unity, our like-mindedness, and eventually, our impulse for mission/evangelism? What’s the point of missions and evangelism if the Kingdom of God and our inheritance is not at the heart of the good news we’re proclaiming? Jesus came proclaiming the Kingdom of Heaven, as did John the Baptist.  And the Apostles lived in such a way as though Jesus were returning any second. If they were in the latter days, aren’t we 2,000 years closer to that Day?

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

Sing to the LORD, all the earth; Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.  1 Chronicles 16:23

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.  Colossians 1:11
